biography
Drawing floor plans since the second grade, attending university summer programs and interning through high school and college, the first job opportunity took Paul and Stephanie to the Caribbean island of St. Croix in the United States Virgin Islands for an invaluable experience in environmentally challenging and remote locations. Returning to the mainland in 1997 Paul then worked for 3 different large firms in Denver, getting experience on large scale resort, educational, office and multi-family developments. In 2002 Paul M. Donoho, Architect, LLC was formed in Idaho Springs, Colorado, a small historic Victorian era gold and silver mining town sandwiched between Colorado's recreational capital of Summit County and the large Denver population. Choosing to focus more on single-family residential and small commercial projects due to the greater joy factor incumbent, Paul was also able to get back into the field of Historic Preservation, something vital in his education under Dr. Eugene Cizek at Tulane University in New Orleans. Upon recognizing a total inability to weather harsh winters any longer a great employment opportunity on the island of Hawaii beckoned and relocation came in 2004. Working on high-end luxury single-family residential while at Hart Howertons office in Waimea was followed by fast paced, development oriented residential projects with Maryl in Kona. Following a change Maryls direction, Paul M. Donoho, Architect, LLC re-emerged and has been wonderfully successful since 2006.
